What to do if the trochoid pump fails?

The trochoid pump is a commonly used hydraulic equipment that transports fluids through the rotation of trochoid gears. Its core component is a pair of special trochoid gears, usually composed of an inner rotor and an outer rotor, with a certain eccentricity between the two. When the motor drives the inner rotor to rotate, a sealed working chamber is formed between them due to the shape difference between the inner and outer rotors. As the rotors rotate, these working chambers will continue to change, thereby achieving the suction and discharge of fluids. When the inner and outer rotors turn to a certain position, the working chamber formed between them will increase, thereby generating negative pressure, and the fluid will be sucked into the pump through the suction pipe. As the rotor continues to rotate, the working chamber gradually decreases, pressing the fluid out of the discharge pipe, thereby achieving the delivery of the fluid. The design of the trochoid gear pump is very sophisticated, and it can achieve efficient fluid delivery in a small space, so it is widely used in hydraulic systems.

Possible reasons and solutions for the trochoid gear pump not pumping oil

When the cycloidal gear pump does not pump oil, it may be caused by the following reasons:

1. The suction pipe is blocked or leaking: If the suction pipe is blocked or leaking, the pump will not be able to suck in the fluid normally. At this time, you need to clean the suction pipe and ensure its sealing.

2. The oil viscosity is too high: If the viscosity of the oil used is too high, it may increase the load of the pump and cause it to fail to work properly. At this time, you need to replace the oil with a suitable viscosity.

3. Severe gear wear: Long-term use or impurities in the oil may cause gear wear, which in turn affects the performance of the pump. In this case, the pump needs to be disassembled and inspected, and the worn gears need to be replaced.

4. Motor failure: If the motor fails, the pump may not operate normally. At this time, you need to check the motor and repair or replace the damaged part.

For the above problems, the following solutions can be taken:

Regularly check and clean the suction pipe to ensure that it is unobstructed and well sealed.

Select the oil with appropriate viscosity according to actual needs, and check and replace it regularly.

Regularly disassemble and inspect the pump and replace worn parts in time.

Regularly maintain and inspect the motor to ensure its normal operation.

When it does not pump oil, it needs to be checked and solved from multiple aspects. Regular maintenance and maintenance of the equipment can ensure its long-term stable operation and extend its service life. If the above content still cannot solve your problem, you need to replace a new trochoid pump. RICOCNC specializes in NOP trochoid pumps, A-Ryung trochoid pumps, and Bosch Rexroth Trochoid Pumps.
